SONG SAMPLER
Video footage of Duo LiveOak concerts 2010-2012 in Mexico, the Faroe Islands and NYC. Nancy Knowles, mezzosoprano and Frank Wallace, composer/guitarist perform new works by Wallace.

SELECTIONS FROM BESTIARY ‚ VOICES AND GUITAR
The performance was April 11, 2008 at Cal State Fullerton. Bestiary was conceived as a light, comic moment to end our concerts with. The texts are tongue-in-cheek commentaries on the lifestyles and characteristics of animals by Theodore Roethke and Nancy Knowles. You will hear a touch of Broadway from the Bear, bluesy dissonance from the Snake and wild rhythms and wailing cries from the Serpent.

Originally for ten-course lute, it is played on a Stephan Connor ten-string guitar in a concert that took place at Nordic House in Tórshavn in June, 2011.

SYZYGY — SONGS FOR VOICE AND GUITAR
PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 5
Syzygy, sixteen songs for mezzo-soprano and guitar, op. 39 by Frank Wallace, poems by Nancy Knowles, is published by Gyre Music www.gyremusic.com. It was written in the winter of 2006 for Knowles’ one-woman show called Luna, an inspiring look at the healing power of art through the story of her mother, an artist who survived multiple tragedies, painting her way well into her nineties.
